Drupad 1.1 has just been submitted to Apple for review. And should be available pretty soon.

What’s new in this coming release?

Post comments

This is such a pleasure to posts comments within the app. It’s easy and fast! You can post comments from node details screen and of course reply to any comment. Note that this is integrated with each node comments settings. So if comments are closed or disabled, you won’t be able to react.

Welcome every one!

This is my favorite one for this release, you no longer need to be user with uid 1 to use the application. You’ll need to go to Users permissions to specify which roles can use Drupad application. I think this is a killer feature for websites who have moderators for content, comments and/or users. Of course it’s built on top of Drupal permissions system, so for a user to publish or delete comments, he or she will need administer comments. The detail of all handled permissions is explained in the module configuration page.

Become social! Share!

You can spread the word about content from your site directly within the app! This includes Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Delicious, Email, Google Reader, Instapaper, Pinboard and Read It Later.

Edit sites

Even though deleting and re-create a site from the app is no big deal, it’s disappointing to have re-enter site name, URL, login etc. You can now edit sites information, just touch a site name while in edit mode.

Recent log entries

This is something I didn’t had much time to integrate in the first release. This is now fixed. You can read all your dblog entries while at the cafĂ©! This will let you know about 404, PHP errors, content changes, users actions, etc. Well I guess you already know that.

Passcode

This was something we knew you would want. It’s part of the update. The first time you’ll launch the application, you’ll be asked to enter a passcode, twice. Starting from here each time you launch Drupad, you’ll be asked to enter this passcode. IMPORTANT: the only way to reset the passcode is to uninstall the application. This is the only way to secure your sites if you lost you iPhone or iPod Touch.

Little things

What is displayed is no longer an extract, but the full comment and the full node. Directly taken from your theme (without your CSS of course, we must remain lightweight).

User pictures are Retina Display ready! I still need to update all application icons, but this will ask me more work (I’m not a photoshop ninja). Once it’s done Drupad will be 100% Retina Display compliant.

I also updated many libraries used by the app, fixed some memory issues and other little things like CSS improvements.

Wait

Please don’t forget to NOT update your module to Drupad 6.x-1.2 until the application update hits the Store. Right?!

Read this carefully: you will need an updated version of the module which is currently on Drupal.org but not published. I’ll publish it as soon as the application hits the store, or just before.
